Mel Fine’s new pop/folk single “Right Here” is about that love that never leaves across the miles

BOSTON, MA-Boston singer-songwriter/soulful folk/pop artist, Mel Fine, releases new summer single, “Right Here”, an emotional and heartfelt story of love and yearning, detailing the emptiness and desperation felt from temporary separation. The lyrics capture a love that goes the distance, and despite the separation love’s presence remains in their hearts. Just like in Mel’s prior release, “Alone Together”, “Right Here”, brings new meaning to being alone together and being just one call away. “Memorizing how you feel” is such a comforting lyric, as the separation makes one think about the out-of-sight lover that much more. Mel’s ethereal vocals evoke the burning desire to erase the miles.

Breathe me in for a moment

Let me go soft and slow like

Memorizing how you feel

So when you’re gone

I’ll still have you right here

Miles apart

You’ll still be in my arms

In my heart

And I won’t let you go

You’ll never be alone

The song was produced and co-written by Graham Finn, a Berklee School of Music graduate, and Lillian who sings on the track, is also a recent Berklee graduate.

Mel Fine‘s new pop/folk single ,“Right Here“, marks a sonic shift from the energetic, upbeat and layer-driven pop sound to a more stripped down, yet extremely vibrant ballad driven by soft, emotionally charged vocals and acoustic guitar sections that truly pull at the heartstrings. Lyrically the song tackles the subject of saying farewell to someone you love, and the desire to maintain that love despite the distance. The line, “hold me for a little longer cause I know you’ll be gone tomorrow. Make the future disappear”, is one that beautifully depicts the feeling of not wanting to say farewell, but knowing that it will happen regardless. As “Right Here“ continues, some of Mel‘s soaring signature harmonies add even more depth to what is quite possibly the most emotionally charged track we have heard from this artist so far. “Right Here“ showcases Mel‘s ability to dial things back and create a truly majestic old-school pop ballad. Fans of pop of artists such as Tracy Chapman will undoubtedly love “Right Here“ in its entirety, especially Mel‘s vocal performance and smooth and chill guitar playing.

Mel’s vocals sit in their own distinct space merging indie, pop and folk vibes to create a soothing and magical feel. The choruses layered with Lillian on vocals have a timely build up which perfectly achieves the mood and honest emotion on a love which won't fade despite the great distance between them.

This song will follow their debut singles, "In Between", which has over 44,000 streams on Spotify and “Alone Together” which has over 24,000 streams. Mel is also one half of the soul/pop duo, Support Group, whose singles “Call Me Crazy,” “Blink of an Eye” and “Upside Down” have close to 50,000 streams, bringing collective streams to 119,000.
